Fowlston, Fisher, Paliana top Class of 2024

The Sherburne-Earlville Central School District is proud to recognize Dominic Fowlston as valedictorian and Haleigh Fisher and Adam Paliana as co-salutatorians of Sherburne-Earlville High School’s Class of 2024, which will graduate together at 6 p.m. June 28 at Colgate University.
Valedictorian Dominic Fowlston
SEHS Valedictorian Dominic Fowlston embodies the virtues of integrity, kindness, and humility, setting a stellar example for his peers. His natural leadership abilities shine through in every facet of his life, whether it’s excelling in academics, leading on the football and baseball fields, or extending a helping hand to those in need. Dominic's unwavering positivity, resilience, and drive make him an inspiration to all who know him. In addition to his academic and athletic prowess, Dominic is immersing himself in the healthcare realm through the New Visions Allied Health Program. Spending his days at Chenango Memorial Hospital, he is laying the foundation for a promising future in the medical field by gaining invaluable hands-on experience while earning college credits at Morrisville State College. The son of Melissa Strong and Shawn Fowlston, Dominic plans to pursue a college degree in engineering or biomedical engineering. He also plans to attend medical school after college graduation, with the ultimate goal of becoming a surgeon.
Co-Salutatorian Haleigh Fisher
SEHS Co-Salutatorian Haleigh Fisher is an extraordinary young woman who possesses an unparalleled work ethic and an innate ability to lead. Throughout her high school years, she has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to academic excellence, often going above and beyond what is required. Haleigh also excels in athletics, particularly in softball. She has been a key member of various softball teams, showcasing not only her athletic prowess but also her sportsmanship, teamwork, and dedication to the sport. Her contributions have led to numerous victories while creating a positive and supportive atmosphere among her teammates. Haleigh always has known she would like to pursue a career in the Health field and has independently taken the necessary steps to explore her options. Haleigh participates in the New Visions Allied Health Program, spending half of her day at Chenango Memorial Hospital to acquire valuable hands-on experience in all areas of the health field and earn college credits through Morrisville State College. The daughter of Paul and Sarah Fisher, Haleigh plans to study Biology or Medical Technology and play Division II softball at Caldwell University in New Jersey.
Co-Salutatorian Adam Paliana
SEHS Co-Salutatorian Adam Paliana has exemplified remarkable dedication and achievement throughout his high school journey. With a commitment to academic excellence, Adam has consistently challenged himself with rigorous coursework, culminating in the pursuit of an Associate's Degree through SUNY Morrisville. His determination knows no bounds as he has embraced college-level courses within our high school curriculum and further enriched his education with online and summer classes. Beyond his academic pursuits, Adam is a pillar of leadership and service within our community. Having devoted more than 300 hours to volunteer work, he embodies the spirit of giving back and selflessness. Adam participates in the New Visions Law and Government Program, spending half of his day getting valuable hands-on experience in all areas of the law and government field while earning college credits through Morrisville State College. The son of Brian and Julie Paliana, Adam plans to major in Psychology and Sociology, with a minor in Neuroscience, at Syracuse University. He also plans to attend law school after college.

Emilie and Ferdinand Maltzan Awards
Fowlston, Fisher and Paliana lead the Top 10 seniors in our Class of 2024, who will all be formally recognized for their academic excellence as Emilie and Ferdinand Maltzan Award scholarship winners during the SEHS 2024 Graduation Ceremony. This year’s Emilie and Ferdinand Maltzan Award scholarship winners are as follows:

1, Dominic Fowlston, Valedictorian: Plans to pursue a college degree in engineering or biomedical engineering. Also plans to attend medical school after college graduation, with the ultimate goal of becoming a surgeon.

2, Haleigh Fisher, Co-Salutatorian: Plans to study Biology or Medical Technology and play Division II softball at Caldwell University in New Jersey.

2, Adam Paliana, Co-Salutatorian: Plans to major in Psychology and Sociology, with a minor in Neuroscience, at Syracuse University. Also plans to attend law school after college.

4, Hannah Todd-Rogers: Plans to study Architecture, with a minor in Graphic Design, at Keene State College in New Hampshire.

5, Olivia Kane: Plans to major in Biology at Colgate University in Hamilton.

6, Bryann Symonds: Plans to study Early Childhood Education at Keuka College.

7, Amelia Ashton: Plans to study Fashion Merchandising at Marist College in Poughkeepsie.

8, Tatum Costantini: Plans to major in Animation and minor in Illustration at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

9, Ethan Shaw: Enrolled at SUNY Farmingdale to study Aviation and plans to attain his pilot’s license.

10, Savanna Born: Plans to major in Applied Sciences at SUNY Morrisville and to attend medical school afterward.
