High School Counseling Office

The staff of the Sherburne-Earlville High School Counseling Office is available to assist every student with career and college planning, scheduling and testing issues, and social and academic needs. Students may stop by the counseling office before school, between classes, during non-instructional time, or after school to schedule an appointment with their counselor.

Mental Health Spotlight

Know the Signs
Signs that you or someone you know may be struggling with mental and/or emotional problems:
  • Self harm of any kind (can come in all forms)
  • Long periods of sadness or anger
  • Not sleeping or sleeping all the time
  • Change in appearance / lack of grooming
  • Sudden personality change
  • Change in friends
  • Discussion of suicide or self-harm
  • Preoccupation with death and dying
  • Loss of interest in activities they loved
  • Rapid weight loss/gain
  • Withdrawing or isolating from people/activities
  • Substance abuse
  • Poor grades/attendance
  • Irresponsible behavior
  • Rebellious behavior
  • Excessive worrying
  • Physical symptoms (stomach aches, headaches, fatigue, etc.)
  • Frequent crying
  • Risk-taking behavior
