Board of Education Statement

The Sherburne-Earlville Central School District Board of Education welcomes residents, staff members, students, and other interested persons to its meetings. We appreciate your interest in, and concern for, our schools.

School Board meetings are usually held on the third Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in Middle School Room 230. Please call the District Office at 607-674-7300 for more information.

At the Board table are the Superintendent of Schools, the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, the Director of Finance and Personnel, and the District Clerk.

Copies of the agenda, which outline the order of business, are available to the public at each meeting and online (click for the Board Docs link). The agenda is also distributed to Board members in advance of the meeting date to allow time for study and review of information.

The SECSD Board of Education is expected to:
  1. Collaborate with student, teacher, administrator, and parent organizations, SECSD safety personnel and other SECSD personnel to develop a code of conduct that clearly defines expectations for the conduct of students, SECSD personnel, and visitors on school property and at SECSD-sponsored functions.
  2. Adopt and review at least annually the SECSD Code of Conduct to evaluate the Code’s effectiveness and the fairness and consistency of its implementation.
  3. Lead by example by conducting SECSD board meetings in a professional, respectful, and courteous manner.
Note: This information was taken from the Code of Conduct.
