Our Backpack Program benefits SECSD families that may need food assistance. Food bags containing breakfast, lunch and dinner items are distributed to students on a weekly basis. To receive food assistance from the Backpack Program, call Bill Mullin at 607-674-7348, click here to email him, or contact your school’s counselor or social worker.

Claudia’s Closet honors the memory of school nurse Claudia Bigelow by working with the community to provide clothing, such as winter wear and sneakers, to SECSD students in need. Although we work closely with the Church Mission Project at Christmas time, parents/guardians can call the Sherburne-Earlville Elementary Office (607-674-7336) any time to address a specific clothing need for their S-E student. Needs also can be emailed to Amanda Collins or Teresa Currie.

Our Community Closet is open to all SECSD students and offers shoes, coats, undergarments, clothing, and hygiene items. Strategies for parenting and behavior management are presented in this nurturing support group that parents/guardians and their SECSD student(s) can attend together. Parents/guardians receive information on topics of interest while students focus on developing strengths in social interactions, developing coping strategies, and problem-solving.
